Method (v2, estimated)
- Pro-rated by days. A trade show adds its latest sourced attendance to each Monday-Sunday week in proportion to the days it runs that week. A four-day show with one day in a week adds a quarter of its attendance there, not all of it.
- One labeling rule. Each Monday-Sunday week gets one score: the pro-rated attendance of every tracked trade show in town that week. The score sets the week’s trade label. A trade show carries the trade label of the week that holds most of its days (ties go to the busier week), on every tile and page. A week’s headline label can be lifted by the leisure floor (“Busy (leisure)” or “Peak (leisure)”); trade-show tiles never inherit it.
- Leisure floor. Leisure weeks get a floor. Any week that overlaps a major leisure or citywide event is rated at least “Busy (leisure)” (EDC, major UFC/fight weekends, and the National Finals Rodeo / Cowboy Christmas run). New Year’s Eve week, Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix weeks and NFR opening week get the top leisure tier, “Peak (leisure)”, which sits at the Packed level. If the trade-show score is already at or above the floor, the higher trade label stands and the leisure event is still noted on the week page. The floor changes the week’s headline label only: the attendee number stays trade shows only, trade-show tiles keep their own trade-based label, and NFR and Cowboy Christmas (leisure events, not trade shows) carry the leisure label.
- Buckets: under 25K Quiet, 25-60K Busy, 60-120K Packed, over 120K Sold-out. Leisure tiers: Busy (leisure) and Peak (leisure), see the leisure floor below.
- Shows with no published attendance count as zero, so scores are floors. We never fill blanks with guesses.
- Not counted (overlays). Citywide events (National Finals Rodeo, Cowboy Christmas) count visits or performances rather than unique attendees, and major leisure events (Formula 1, EDC, big fight nights, New Year's Eve) have no comparable badge count. They appear as overlays on week and show pages and are not added to the score. Overlay dates are listed only when confirmed by the organizer.
- Not yet included: concerts, sports seasons, and hotel-rate or occupancy data. The planned weekend weighting (×1.3) is not applied.
